Floodlights for Birkenhead Park Rugby Union: Case Study
This was an installation comprising the floodlighting of three rugby pitches. Two rugby pitches of natural grass construction and one of 3rd generation astro turf facility.Using 15 metre base hinging masts on the natural grass rugby pitches with 2 kilowatt flat glass, state of the art, luminaires we exceeded our targeted values of 100 lux for the training pitch and 200 lux for the competition rugby pitch. The 3G facility used mid-hinging 12 metre masts and 2 kilowatt luminaires to achieve an output exceeding 250 lux. Other works included mast bases, feeder pillars and over 950 metres of cable trenching and ducting.
